When the news came out of Alex Boone’s release on Saturday, it sent shock waves throughout the NFL landscape. Most had assumed that Boone was going to be the Vikings starting left guard on Monday night; now he was suddenly out of a job.
However, Boone’s unemployment didn’t last long. He has reportedly signed with the Arizona Cardinals. From his agents:
Alex Boone has agreed to terms with the @AZCardinals Arizona Cardinals

Arizona’s offensive line situation is generally in much better shape than Minnesota’s; it is assumed that veteran Mike Iupati will be the starting left guard for the Cardinals in Week 1. Boone could possibly compete with the Evan Boehm at right guard, or he could simply be added for depth on a team that has solid starters but a lot of unproven backups.
While Alex Boone’s time in Minnesota ultimately ended in disappointment, we here at Daily Norseman wish the best of luck to Boone on his new team this season.
(Unless the Vikings and Cardinals happen to meet in the playoffs, of course.)
