Merry Wednesday, everyone!
Hey, a million thanks to just_rob for rescuing the thread yesterday. The day got away from me & it was going to be later in the morning when I would have gotten to it.
So, the preseason is over, how are the Vikings looking overall as they head into the regular season? I'm interested to see this one, I'll save my thoughts for the comments.
Poll

We have too many holes, 8-8 at best. Fire someone.

We stink, 4-12. Fire everyone.

The Jets could possibly beat us, two wins would be a miracle. Fire everyone who is even remotely involved with the current team. This includes the mascot, the popcorn vendor, the really loud beer salesman, and Wobby.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Chris is almost to the end, he highlights #2 in Minnesota Vikings by the Numbers.
It didn't take Alex Boone long to find a new home. He signed with the Cardinals yesterday, per Eric.
Wludford brings some perspective, and the Vikings week one power rankings.
Chris announced that the Daily Norseman pick 'em and Survivor leagues will be coming today.
The Vikings D is ready for AD and the Saints.
Vikings news from other sources:
Fox Sports looks at the Vikings' completely revamped O line.
Hey, Eric Smith over at Vikings.com has a pretty cool series on some former Vikings who share some stories about Randy Moss. He looks at comments from Scott Studwell, Fred Zamberletti, Dennis Ryan (equipment guy), and Jim Kleinsasser (my favorite Viking ever). Vikings.com also has some stuff in the media vault: Mike Zimmer's press conference, a Vikings-Saints breakdown and prediction from Bucky Brooks and Daniel Jeremiah, and lots more.
Around the rest of the NFL:
From NFL.com, Ezekiel Elliot's 6-game suspension has been upheld. Even though the suspension was upheld, Elliot will be allowed to play against the Giants on Monday because of the timing of the decision.......Wut? Upheld the decision but he plays on Monday "due to the timing of the decision"? Oh. @I see@
We come to our media selection.
I love this one, it's one of my favorite songs to listen to when I'm out for a cruise.
We all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn't a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep vulgar language to a minimum, using spoiler tags if you must
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer\
-If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it's sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don't forget to tip your waitress, & try the knoephla soup.
