AFC Divisional Playoffs: Tennessee Titans at New England Patriots

The AFC will have half of its Championship Game in just a few hours

NFL: New York Jets at New England Patriots Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

In approximately half an hour, we will get the first kickoff of the AFC Divisional Playoffs from Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. This one will see the defending champions and the #1 seed in the AFC, the New England Patriots, playing host to the upstart Tennessee Titans.

After the first half of last week’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, it didn’t look like the Titans had much of a shot at being here. They trailed 21-3 at Arrowhead Stadium, and it appeared that Kansas City was well on its way to victory. However, Marcus Mariota engineered a great second half comeback, including throwing a touchdown pass to himself, and the Titans’ defense shut down the Chiefs to pull off a 22-21 victory.

New England is coming off of their eighth consecutive season of winning at least 12 games, which is absolutely crazy in today’s NFL. We know all about the Patriots. . .Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Darth Hoodie, and all the rest. They’re, like, really good, y’all.

If the Patriots win this game, they will host the AFC Championship Game on Sunday afternoon. Should the Titans pull off the upset, they will play a third straight road game to take on the winner of the Pittsburgh Steelers/Jacksonville Jaguars contest on Sunday for the right to advance to Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis.

Do the Titans have a chance of keeping this one close? We’ll find out when things kick off from Foxborough here in about thirty minutes. Enjoy the game, everybody!
