Merry Tuesday, everyone!
It’s day number two following that insane ending, I wonder how Sean Payton’s feeling right now. He’s probably handling it okay, living with an absence of any regret or remorse is one of the perks of not having a conscience, I suppose.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Ted and Di posted Roughing the Podcast 45: Dilly Dilly, We’re Goin’ to Philly.
Chris provides evidence of some typically classless behavior engaged in by the wanna-be tough guy and all-around dirty SOB Sean Payton . He also discusses the taste of karma that ol’ Sean received on Sunday.
Wludford shares some thoughts & take-aways from Sunday’s game.
Web Community Tees has designed some t-shirts to celebrate the Minneapolis Miracle. Breaking T also has a new design in honor of the play.
Eric takes a look at the five most important plays from Sunday’s game. I wonder if that final catch by Diggs made the list.
Chris gives some much-deserved props to one of the Saints players.
Father and son are forever connected to two of Minnesota’s most iconic sports moments, from Ted.
Saxyprince has an account of that unbelievable ending.
Chris shared the report that Pat Shurmur is expected to be hired as the next head coach of the New York Giants. That sucks, we finally get some consistent offensive production, and now the OC search will be on again. From what I hear, Musgrave & Norv are still available. Thoughts?
Vikings news from other sources:
At Vikings.com, see Coach Zimmer’s Monday presser, the NFLN crew discusses where the Minneapolis Miracle ranks among playoff finishes, and there’s a ton more to look through in the media vault.
From the Strib, the Vikings come back to earth & begin preparing for the Eagles.
News from around the rest of the league:
SI has an update on the latest coaching announcements.
The Jaguars’ Joe Namath Jalen Ramsey guaranteed a victory over the Patriots on Sunday, per ESPN.
We come to today’s media selection.
I can’t watch this enough.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, & try the head cheese
