Latavius Murray nominated for FedEx Ground Player of the Week

Is his big performance on Sunday award-worthy?

NFL: Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Once again, the Minnesota Vikings have a player nominated for one of the weekly FedEx Air and Ground Awards.

This time, it’s running back Latavius Murray, who put up a pretty impressive performance in the season finale against the Chicago Bears.

Murray carried the ball 20 times for 111 yards on Sunday in Minnesota’s 23-10 victory over their division rivals, and found the end zone on a pair of 1-yard plunges. It was his second 100-yard performance of the season, and the second time this season he’s scored multiple touchdowns.

The other nominees for the award for Week 17 are New England Patriots’ running back Dion Lewis and New York Giants running back Orleans Darkwa.

If you’d like to cast your vote for Murray, you can do so in one of two ways:

  • You can go to the voting site on and cast your vote for him there, or
  • If you’re on the Twitters, you can tweet the name “Murray” along with the hashtag #AirandGround, like this:

The voting runs until Thursday at 2:00 PM Central, so there’s still time for you to get your vote in. Have at it, folks!
