When the Minnesota Vikings face the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game in. . .oh, about six hours or so. . .they’re going to have two very important pieces in uniform and ready to go.
Both wide receiver Adam Thielen and safety Andrew Sendejo are expected to be active and take their starting spots for today’s contest.
Sendejo spent much of the week in the NFL’s concussion protocol following the cheap shot he took from New Orleans wide receiver Michael Thomas during last week’s Divisional playoff victory. However, he did travel with the team to Philadelphia, and according to numerous sources has been cleared to play.
Thielen was listed with a back injury on this week’s injury report, and is apparently dealing with “tiny fractures” in his back. He missed a play or two in last week’s victory, but finished the game and made a spectacular catch along the way to set up a Kai Forbath field goal. He’s apparently in quite a bit of pain, but will be able to gut it out in any case.
With that, it appears that the Vikings’ starting lineups are going to be largely intact for the biggest game of the year. We’ll have the inactive lists for you when they come out approximately ninety minutes before kickoff.
