So, we’ve got another themed post with our fellow SB Nation football blogs for today, and it’s a topic that I’m pretty sure we’ve discussed before. We’re going to talk about where your favorite place to watch the Super Bowl is.
I’m not exactly a “social butterfly” or anything like that. To be honest, this is about as close as I like to get to human interaction in a lot of cases. Most years, I’m generally not into Super Bowl parties or anything like that. There have been a couple of exceptions, like being at an overseas base and going to Super Bowl showings at the enlisted club. Of course, at places like that, the game generally kicks off at around 2 AM local time and everybody feels like hell afterwards, so there are downsides. (Although I will say that, in most places like that, the day after the Super Bowl is almost a holiday, or at the very least a half day.)
But, honestly, I’d much rather watch the Super Bowl from home. Now, I’m not talking about bitter Michael Thomas “man, I wish I had injured Andrew Sendejo worse than I did” watching from home, but just parking on the couch and watching the game.
Basically, if I watch the game from my house, I can control everything. I can order or cook whatever food my wife and I want, I can watch the game in as much peace as I want, and there isn’t a line at the bathroom or anything like that. Everything is within arm’s reach or, at worst, a short walk from the couch. If I should choose to indulge in some adult beverages, I’m already comfortably home. And if the game turns out to be boring, there’s no awkwardness in trying to figure out an excuse to leave early or anything.
I’m sure that there are some of you more social types out there that might prefer the party scene or what have you, but honestly, that’s just not for me. Home is where the game is, that’s for sure.
Where are you planning on watching this year’s big game?
Where will you be watching this year’s Super Bowl?

I’m going to be hosting a party this year.
I’m going to be attending a party somewhere else.
I’m just going to watch the game at home.
I have to work that day, so I’ll watch/follow it there.
I’m probably not going to watch at all.
