Happy Monday, everyone!
I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend. I got to do some work up in the attic, which was more fun than what I did the weekend before. Let’s hope this week is better than last week.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Chris takes a look at the Vikings pending free agents who are not quarterbacks.
The Vikings scored the only NFC touchdowns in the Pro Bowl, but it wasn’t quite enough.
The rumor is that we’ll know who the new Vikings OC is later this week, per LaCafora.
The Vikings are still projected to receive two compensatory draft picks.
The Vikes were nominated for the Touchdown Celebration of the Year Award. Yes, that’s an actual award.
Vikes news from other sources & news from around the league:
Matthew Coller at 1500ESPN looks at the wide receivers in part 3 of The Future of the Vikings.
From NFL.com, John Elway says the Broncos have the ammo to draft or to trade for a quarterback.
We come to today’s media selection.
This suggestion was sent to me last week, but I had already posted the thread & I never got around to changing it. The suggestion was that this would more aptly describe the general fan mood about the game (that is correct). So, here it is, better late than never. Oh, and this is Jerry Burns, so there will be LOTS of NSFW LANGUAGE.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, & try the Drano. In the immortal words of Frank Drebbin, “Sure, it’ll clean you out, but it’ll leave you feeling hollow inside”
