Good Morning!
I hope your weekend started off on the right foot with food, family and bacon. I’ll mention below but I won’t be able to post the league news until later this morning as I have to take my wife to the start of the MS 150 this morning, she’s using it as a training ride in preparation for her Ironman that may or may not take place due to the damage cause by Hurricane Michael along the Florida peninsula. I hope your weekend is going great with fun filled activities, work or whatever you want to do. While we’re waiting for the next Vikings game to start we’ll continue with our open thread full of beer recommendations, nap strategies, crock pot and smoker recipes. Have another cup of coffee and drop by for some fan wisdom and snark. With that, let’s do this.
Around the DN since our last thread:
Chris and Eric have a spot where you can keep up with all the Vikings-Cardinals news.
Chris lets us know that it’s time for the never ending offensive line shuffle as HC Mike Zimmer declares Riley Reiff out for Sunday’s game against Arizona.
Vikings’ NFC North Rivals: News and Notes, Week 6 Dan reads up on our division opponents so we don’t have to, missed this yesterday Dan, sorry about that!
Chris has a a brief look at Cardinals/Vikings history.
Finally, Norse Code Podcast Episode 251: When the Punter is your MVP... (with guest Blake Allen Murphy)
Vikings news from other sources:
From Vikings.com and their notebook: RB Dalvin Cook: “still trying to get where I need to be.”
Vikings full injury report against the Cardinals on Sunday.
What’d they say: Cardinals talk about the Vikings.
The Skinny Post: Vikings return home against Arizona.
From their lunch break series: Patrick Peterson offers ‘Toughest Challenge’ for Vikings WRs, (lol from me.)
From 1500espn Vikings will be without starters LT Riley Reiff and S Andrew Sendejo vs. Cardinals.
Can Dalvin Cook get the Vikings’ running game back on track?
League news:
Consistent with the weekend thread I’ll post league news in the comments, will probably be delayed until later as I have a commitment early this morning.
We come to today’s media selection: AC/DC - Rock and Roll Train
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up and tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, try the venison chili and as always, Welcome Aboard and Skol Vikings!
