Merry post-win Monday, everyone!
Hey, it was another win by the good guys yesterday, and they moved ever-so-close to their rightful spot, atop the NFC North. What did everyone think of the game? I really loved the defense, these past two games look have looked much better than they have since halftime of the near-miss against New Orleans in the playoffs last year (I don’t get that term. If you narrowly avoid disaster, they call it a near-miss, shouldn’t it be called a near-hit? That’s always bugged me). The defense really won the game yesterday, they scored 3 of the team’s 4 touchdowns, and held the Cardinals offense to very little.
The running game........was marginally better, but no one will confuse our running game with Adrian Peterson v.2012. 70-80 yards per game and 3 yards a carry isn’t good enough, let’s hope we see some improvement. The line was actually opening some lanes yesterday, and there were a couple decent runs, and the YPR was dragged down a bit by the 4th quarter, grind the clock routine, but our rushing attack still needs to produce more than it has been.
That really sucks about Mike Hughes’ injury, the kid was showing some good stuff in his rookie year, let’s hope for a speedy and full recovery. Other than that, Thielen is a certified animal, there were a couple of Treadwell sightings!, Cousins held his own, the kicker didn’t cause any heartburn, and the team got its second win in a row. They continue to build momentum as they near the midpoint of the season, so let’s hope they keep on keepin’ on. Next, the team will go on the road and travel to New York Jersey, where they’ll take on the Jets. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Chris takes a look at where the Vikes are after week six, and it’s pretty much where many thought they’d be.
The team said that they fear Mike Hughes tore his ACL yesterday. Man, that sucks.

My favorite DN tradition, I love playing this. STRIKE UP THE BAND!
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
- No discussion of politics or religion
- No feeding of the trolls
- This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
- Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
- Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up and tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, and try the pickled northern.
