No purple, no problem!

After today, the bye week for the Minnesota Vikings will mercifully be over, and we can get back to looking forward to the purple’s next conquest in Chicago on Sunday Night Football. However, there is still plenty of NFL action to be had today, and with the Vikings sitting this week out, that can only mean one thing. It’s not a Pleasant Valley Sunday, it’s not a Sunday Bloody Sunday. . .

No, ladies and gentlemen, it is a RED ZONE SUNDAY here at The Daily Norseman, where we can watch any or all of the NFL action we feel like in a relatively stress-free environment.

For those of you that don’t have the Red Zone Channel. . .which is really a damn shame. . .here is a full listing of all of today’s games. If you’re not sure which games are playing in your area, be sure to check out all the coverage maps from 506 Sports. Also, if you have DirecTV and don’t have the Sunday Ticket package, it is free for all DirecTV customers this week. So you’ve got that going for you. . .which is nice.

The rest of the NFC North is in action today, and two of our division rivals will be taking on each other as the Chicago Bears host the Detroit Lions in part of Sunday’s early slate. The Green Bay Packers will host the Miami Dolphins as part of the late afternoon coverage.

This week’s Sunday Night Football contest will feature the Philadelphia Eagles facing the Dallas Cowboys, and Monday Night Football this week will be a real barn-burner between the New York Giants and the San Francisco 49ers.

Along with the Vikings, the Denver Broncos, Baltimore Ravens, and Houston Texans are taking Week 10 off. The Thursday Night Football contest is already in the books, as the Pittsburgh Steelers throttled the Carolina Panthers.

That’s all the NFL action for this week, ladies and gentlemen, and you can discuss all of it right here with your fellow Vikings fans!
