Merry hump day, everyone!
We’re half-way through this long week, but it’s still a long wait until Sunday night when we’ll finally get our Vikings fix. The bye week is bad enough, then they have to push the game back even further. What are they trying to do, kill us? Sheesh.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Stay up-to-speed at the Vikings-Bears game hub, from Chris and Eric.
Voting for this year’s NFL Pro Bowl has begun, per Chris.
One of the more ‘under-the-radar’ players on the Vikings defense could be in line for an extension. Chris wonders if Anthony Harris will be one of the next guys the team locks in.
Will we see Stefon Diggs on the field this Sunday? If you ask Stefon Diggs, there’s no doubt he will.
Eric takes a brief look at Vikings/Bears history.
The Vikings obviously sat out during their bye week this past week. When they did, their playoff chances improved.
Vikings news from other sources and news from around the rest of the NFL.
From Vikings.com, click here to vote for your choices to go to the Pro Bowl, they look at where the team stands after 9 games on Beyond The Gridiron, and there is a lot more for you to view in the video vault.
FoxSports thinks we’ll see a lot more from the Vikings running game now that Dalvin Cook is back.
From NFL.com, Le’Veon Bell did not sign his franchise tag before yesterday’s deadline, and will miss the 2018 season. Wow, it’s amazing to me that the sides couldn’t come to some form of an agreement.
From ESPN, after the Eagles’ rough start, they now have the most difficult remaining schedule in the NFL.
On FoxSports, Kristine Leahy has an interesting interview with........Ryan Leaf. This is pretty interesting, he talks about his struggle with mental health issues, and about his connection with Peyton Manning.
We come to today’s media selection:
Here’s a perfect one for this hump day, it’s Digital Underground with the Humpty Dance. Enjoy!
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
- No discussion of politics or religion
- No feeding of the trolls
- This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
- Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
- Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
- No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
- If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
- While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up and tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, and try the Rocky Mountain oysters.
