Bears injury update: Chicago activating TE Adam Shaheen from IR

They moved tight end Dion Sims to IR

NFL: Chicago Bears at Cincinnati Bengals Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

When we brought you the final injury reports for the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears leading into their big Sunday Night Football contest at Soldier Field, the Bears’ injury report was pretty short. . .three whole names, in fact. Well, the Bears have moved one of those players to injured reserve, and are replacing him with a player that could prove to be another weapon for the Chicago offense.

The Bears announced on Saturday that they are activating tight end Adam Shaheen from their injured reserve list. To make room, they have put tight end Dion Sims. . .the only player they had listed as “out” on their injury report. . .to injured reserve with concussion issues.

Shaheen was the Bears’ second-round pick in 2017, and caught just 12 passes in his rookie season, although three of those grabs were for scores. He was expected to play a bigger role in the Chicago offense this season, but was injured in the preseason and was placed on injured reserve.

Just one more potential wrinkle for the Vikings’ defense to worry about this Sunday. If we have any more injury updates or roster moves, we will bring them to you here.
