On Sunday Night Football, the Minnesota Vikings will play host to the Green Bay Packers at U.S. Bank Stadium in a game that could very well serve as an elimination game for a chance at an NFC playoff berth.
The Vikings enter this game at 5-4-1, coming off of a disappointing performance at Soldier Field on last week’s installment of Sunday Night Football. The Vikings fell 25-20 to the Bears, and robbed themselves of a chance to take the driver’s seat of the NFC North with six games left.
The Packers are coming off of a disappointing defeat of their own, as they fell to the Seattle Seahawks last Thursday by a score of 27-24. The Packers got out to a quick 14-3 lead and led 21-17 at halftime, but did next to nothing in the second half and fell to 0-5 on the road this season.
As we all certainly remember, these two teams met at Lambeau Field in Week 2 and played to a 29-29 tie. Both teams had opportunities to win, but could not capitalize.
One of these two teams will have an opportunity to push themselves closer to an NFC playoff spot in this one, while the other one could probably start making offseason plans. Let’s hope that it’s the guys wearing purple that put themselves on top in this one.
