Since we’ve got some time to kill before tonight’s big Sunday Night Football contest, we found a fun little video that may or may not. . .probably not. . .be a precursor to tonight’s result.
Those of us that are a bit older and have been playing video games for a while remember the Mutant League series of games. These games featured all sorts of fantastic creatures, including orcs, werewolves, and skeletons. That series from the early 90s explored both football and hockey, and now a quarter of a century later there’s a new football version of the game called Mutant Football League.
(So as not to confuse it with Mutant League Football, obviously.)
The new version has players and teams that are loosely based on today’s National Football League, and they’ve been simulating some of the big prime time games this season. This Sunday’s game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers is no exception, and we’ve got the video of it from their YouTube channel below.
So, for your viewing pleasure, here is the video of “Airbourne Dodgers” and the Grim Bay Attackers taking on “Quirk Buzzin” and the Purple Mutant Eaters.
If you’re not familiar with the Mutant Football League or the concept of the game as a whole, you can check out the Wiki that fans of the game have put together with a bunch of information about it.
This is just for fun, obviously, but I thought that some of our gamer types might enjoy it. And hey, we’re still about six hours from game time, so it gives us something to do.
