The Minnesota Vikings have issued the second of their three injury reports for this week, and there really aren’t any changes to report from the one that came out on Wednesday.
There was one name added to the Thursday report, and that was cornerback Mackensie Alexander. The Vikings list Alexander as having a knee injury, but he was a limited participant in Thursday’s session.
Other than that, the injury report is identical to what we saw yesterday. Wide receiver Stefon Diggs (knee) and cornerback Xavier Rhodes (hamstring) continue to sit things out, as do wide receiver Chad Beebe (hamstring) and tight end David Morgan (knee). Diggs sounds like he thinks he’s playing on Sunday against the New England Patriots despite not practicing the past two days.
Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who missed practice Wednesday and Thursday with a knee injury, told me he’s playing Sunday at New England.

Of course, I’m relatively certain he said something similar before the game against the Lions before the bye and wound up being inactive. Obviously Friday will be key for him.
Friday will also be key for linebacker Ben Gedeon, who has been limited in practice this week and is still recovering from a concussion. According to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Gedeon has one final step to clear the league’s concussion protocol, and that’s a meeting with a neurologist that’s scheduled for Friday. The team is hoping that he will be cleared.
Here’s a full recap of the Vikings’ injury report from Thursday:
Did not participate: WR Chad Beebe (hamstring), WR Stefon Diggs (knee), TE David Morgan (knee), CB Xavier Rhodes (hamstring)
Limited participation: CB Mackensie Alexander (knee), LB Ben Gedeon (concussion), WR Adam Thielen (calf)
Full participation: G Tom Compton (knee), LB Eric Kendricks (chest), G Mike Remmers (low back)
Both teams will release their final injury reports on Friday afternoon, and we’ll have all the news from that right here for your perusal.
