It’s the Open Thread and Thorsday!

NFL: Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

Good Morning!

If you’re wondering about the title change, I got an email from the Big Boss™ last night asking Gone Fishin and I to change the title to something that would more likely show up on a search engine if someone was looking for Vikings news. However I’m open to suggestions on the title, either place your idea in the comments section or you can email me. I’ll take a look tomorrow when I get home from work or if I have the opportunity to peruse the comments section while I’m at work. Nothing else changed though, it’s still the same place to post gifs, narrative driven opinions with no facts whatsoever, and smoker recipes (looking at you ABG). While we’re waiting for the next Vikings game to start we’ll continue with our open thread news and links full of beer recommendations, nap strategies, crock pot and smoker recipes. Have another cup of coffee and drop by for some fan wisdom and snark. With that, let’s do this.

Around the DN since our last thread:

Speaking of the Big Boss™ Chris bring us the news that the Vikings signed former Lions RB Ameer Abdullah and waived RB Roc Thomas. Bummer, you put a good effort on the field in the preseason opener in Denver Mr. Thomas, good luck to you going forward. Welcome Aboard and Skol to Ameer Abdullah!

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, try the venison chili and as always, Welcome Aboard and Skol Vikings!
