Yes, Harris has opened up his home to a new family member, a 2-month old Siamese mix cat named Cookie.

Harris was one of a number of Vikings that was part of a volunteer event at the Animal Humane Society in Minneapolis last Tuesday. At that time, he expressed a desire to adopt a pet, and though he’s generally a dog person, he knew that with his hectic schedule that might not be an option. But, he apparently went back to the shelter yesterday, found Cookie, and simply couldn’t say no.

This is one of those times of the year where a lot of folks are looking to bring a new pet into their home, whether it’s for themselves or their children. It’s nice to see Harris making some room in his home to bring in a new pet for a second chance. Kudos to him, and kudos to everyone that’s going to make their way to their local shelter this holiday season to give one of our animal friends a new home.
