We are less than ninety minutes away from kickoff at Ford Field between the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions, and both teams have released their inactive lists for this contest. Let’s take a look at who will be sitting out for each side, starting with the visiting team.
Minnesota Vikings
- RB Mike Boone
- DE Tashawn Bower
- G Danny Isidora
- CB Craig James
- LB Eric Kendricks
- QB Kyle Sloter
- WR Laquon Treadwell
Treadwell is a healthy scratch, which comes as a pretty significant surprise. The return of Chad Beebe, who figures to play a huge role today, appears to have lessened the need for Treadwell to be out there. Still, it’s surprising. . .and a bit disappointing. . .to see the former first-round pick not even on the active roster for a game like this. We’ll learn more about this development going forward, I’m sure.
And now, on to the home team.
Detroit Lions
- OL Andrew Donnal
- LB Nicholas Grigsby
- DE Kerry Hyder
- C Leo Kolomatangi
- WR Chris Lacy
- CB Teez Tabor
- CB Dee Virgin
In a move that isn’t that surprising, Matthew Stafford will start for the Lions after being listed as questionable and being limited in practice all week with a back injury. More importantly, defensive tackle Damon “Snacks” Harrison is active after missing a couple of practices this week, which could present an issue for a Vikings team that wants to run the football. The Lions had two players, wide receiver Bruce Ellington and safety Charles Washington, listed as “out” on their final injury report, and placed both of them on injured reserve yesterday.
That’s a look at the inactive lists, ladies and gentlemen. Our Open Thread for the first quarter of play will be up at approximately 11:00 AM Central time.
