Vikings injury report update: Linval Joseph, Mike Remmers return

Who was in and who was out for the Vikings on Thursday?

NFL: Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

On Thursday, the Minnesota Vikings held their second practice of the week in preparation for their do-or-die Week 17 matchup against the Chicago Bears, and there are a couple of positive updates to the injury report. Of course, with this being the Vikings, there’s also a downer to report as well.

First off, after not practicing on Wednesday, both defensive tackle Linval Joseph (knee) and guard Mike Remmers (low back) returned to practice on Thursday, albeit in a limited capacity. They were the only two members of the group that sat out of Wednesday’s session to return on Thursday.

On the down side, wide receiver Chad Beebe sat out of Thursday’s practice, once again dealing with a hamstring injury. Beebe missed four games with the hamstring issue previously and was apparently a full participant in practice on Wednesday, but was sidelined again today with the issue.

Tom Compton was also limited in practice on Thursday with a shoulder issue.

Here is a full accounting of the Vikings’ injury report for Thursday:

Did not participate: WR Chad Beebe (hamstring), FB C.J. Ham (elbow), LB Eric Kendricks (hamstring), CB Xavier Rhodes (groin), PR Marcus Sherels (foot)

Limited participation: G Tom Compton (shoulder), DT Linval Joseph (knee), G Mike Remmers (low back)

Full participation: LB Anthony Barr (shoulder), TE David Morgan (knee)

We’re getting into “scary” territory with guys like Ham, Kendricks, Rhodes, and Sherels. They’ve all missed the first two practices of the week, so we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on what they do on Friday. If they don’t practice tomorrow, there could be a lot of different faces for the Vikings in the most important game of the 2018 season. Hopefully at least a couple of them will be ready to go by then.
