Earlier today, we passed along news about the Minnesota Vikings getting a request from the Cleveland Browns to interview offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski for their head coaching vacancy. Now, another team that’s searching for a head coach wants to interview the man that runs things. . .at least by title. . .on the other side of the ball.
The #Bucs have requested an interview with #Vikings DC George Edwards for their head coaching job, per sources. Trusted assistant of Mike Zimmer, has a big role in game planning. Interviewed with #Bears last year and impressed.

Close, Personal Friend of The Daily Norseman Tom Pelissero™ is reporting that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have requested an interview with Vikings’ defensive coordinator George Edwards about their head coaching vacancy. The Bucs fired Dirk Koetter on Sunday following their loss in their season finale.
Edwards has been the Vikings’ defensive coordinator since Mike Zimmer became the head coach in 2014. The two of them previously worked together with the Dallas Cowboys. As Pelissero notes, Edwards did interview for the Bears’ head coaching position last season, and was on a recently-released list of candidates for coaching positions this offseason as well.
With that, the Vikings could, potentially, be in danger of losing both of their primary coordinators. It’s hard to say at this point how serious the interest from the teams that want to interview Stefanski and Edwards is, but it’s a possibility at this point, anyway.
