As the Minnesota Vikings don’t play until Monday this week, they didn’t have to put out their first injury report of the week until Thursday. They did just that today, and four members of the team were listed as having not participated in practice.
Both wide receiver Chad Beebe (hamstring) and tight end David Morgan (knee) continue to be sidelined, though Morgan is reportedly closer to being back than he’s been in past weeks. We might not see him against the Seahawks, but he might be back after that.
In addition to those two, linebacker Eric Kendricks (rib) and cornerback Trae Waynes (concussion) sat out of Thursday’s practice as well. I’m not sure when, exactly, Kendricks suffered his injury, but it must have been towards the end of Sunday’s loss to New England. Waynes suffered a concussion in the first quarter against the Patriots and wound up missing the rest of the game. This is Waynes’ second concussion of the year, so there’s a better-than-average chance that we won’t see him at all against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night.
Wide receiver Stefon Diggs (knee) was the only Viking that was listed as “limited” in practice. Xavier Rhodes, who was limited all week in practice last week with a hamstring issue, was not held back at all in practice today and will likely be a full go on Monday night, barring a setback. Neither linebacker Anthony Barr nor wide receiver Adam Thielen is listed on the injury report for Thursday.
Here is the Vikings’ full injury report for Thursday:
Did not participate: WR Chad Beebe (hamstring), LB Eric Kendricks (rib), TE David Morgan (knee), CB Trae Waynes (concussion)
Limited participation: WR Stefon Diggs (knee)
Full participation: G Mike Remmers (low back), CB Xavier Rhodes (hamstring), WR Brandon Zylstra (foot)
We’ll be keeping an eye on these injuries going forward, and remember that the team’s final injury report for this week will be out on Saturday this week rather than Friday.
