Jeopardy! contestants completely stumped by football

And they certainly didn’t know the Purple People Eaters

I’m a huge fan of the television show Jeopardy!, as I’m sure many of our readers are. The show has been on the air since the mid-60s (with a couple of breaks), and the current incarnation with Alex Trebek has been on the air since 1984. It’s rare that you see an entire category go by the boards without anyone getting a single question right, but that’s what we got on today’s episode.

Not only did the three contestants not answer any of the questions. . .none of them so much as rang in to make an attempt.

Now, before we get too far along here, I understand that there are folks that don’t know a lot about football. I’m sure that these three people have areas of knowledge about things that I’m completely clueless about.

Having said that. . .wow. I’m not even sure what else I can add. It’s damn near painful for a football fan to watch, that’s for sure.

If you watch all the way to the end, there’s even a question that concerns our own Minnesota Vikings, with Mr. Trebek saying that if any of the contestants manage to ring in and get that question right, he would “die.” They didn’t get that one, either, so thankfully Mr. Trebek is still with us.

After a day of talking about contract tolling and other things we probably don’t want to think too much about, it’s nice to end the day with a bit of a laugh.
