Good Morning and hello Thursday!
We’re in full off-season form with QB debates, mock drafts, smoker tips and crockpot recipes the rage on the daily thread. GF and I have been talking and I agreed to start doing the daily thread Thursday though the weekend so he’s got more time for work and family. The combine is getting geared up to start, let the underwear Olympics begin!
Around the DN since our last thread:
Chris bring us the news Joe Berger will not retire as previously thought but will instead explore free agency, beside the Vikings a couple of teams could be interested.
Vikings news from other sources:
At Vikings.com they have presser points as GM Rick Spielman talked to the press from the combine in Indianapolis, additionally the Vikings have made no decisions regarding the QB situation. From the lunchbreak series a discussion of the suggested defensive pass interference changes and finally five combine storylines to watch.
Over at 1500espn they finish their series on the top 30 free agents that potentially fit for the Vikings, this time five though one and suggest the Vikings might be willing to pay the steep price to end the quarterback carousel.
From the NFL, a list of important dates leading up to the start of the regular season, I’ll probably post this throughout the offseason.
Media selection: Neil Young, Old Man
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up and tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, try the venison chili and as always, Welcome Aboard and Skol Vikings!
