Don’t follow anyone, they’re all lost

Merry Tuesday, everyone!

Okay, we’re another day into the long NFL off-season. You gotta pace yourself, don’t burn up all your energy right away if you want to make it. Some folks are getting WAY too worked up over what some writers are saying, and we’re not even in the official free agency period yet, so it’s all over news reports based on nothing, written to get clicks. Worrying about what you see written by a sports journalist is akin to worrying about going outside because of something you read in the National Enquirer. It’s okay, the half-bat/half-human won’t get you.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Wludford shares the PFF rankings that have the Vikings’ O line ranked 22nd in the league for 2017.

Chris shared a report that the Vikings reached out to Drew Brees.

The Vikings have placed a 2nd round tender on Nick Easton, per Chris. They’ve taught him well, now they’ll let him lead the way.

Wludford asks whether it’s actually a buyer’s market for free-agent quarterbacks.

Vikings news from other sources and news from around the league:

Over in the media vault at Vikings.com, former Eagles TE Trey Burton says the Vikings reached out to him, James Jones at the NFL Network says the Jets have to beat the Vikings’ offer by $10 million to get Cousins, and there’s lots more to sift through at your leisure.

CBS has all the latest NFL free-agency rumors, gossip, and probably even some pure fiction.

NFL.com reported that the Packers have some pretty significant free-agent targets.

We come to today’s media selection.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, & try the blood sausage.
