Merry Wednesday, everyone!
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Saxyprince tells us about the Golden Gophers’ pro day.
Here’s some great news from Skelly10, Dalvin Cook is close to returning for OTAs. I can’t wait to see that kid out there on the field again, he’s one of the guys I like to cheer for.
The Vikings helped initiate a waiver rule change at the NFL owners’ meeting.
The NFL clarified the catch rule, per Chris. Oh great, I supposed they added a couple more chapters to the book that describes what a catch is. That’ll help.
Chris posted Day 2 of the Daily Norseman Community Mock Draft.
At the owners’ meeting, Coach Zimmer discussed the circumstances around the decisions made regarding Teddy Bridgewater. His knee was a concern for them, unfortunately, per Ted. I hope the kid overcomes the injury & has a nice, long, career, and I truly hope he winds up under center for the Vikings again someday, somehow. I’ll be rooting hard for him.
Vikings news from other sources and news from around the league:
At Vikings.com, watch the NFL Network guys predict the Vikings’ first three picks, see Mike Zimmer’s full session at the owners’ meeting, and there’s lots more to look through in the media vault.
NFL.com attempts to separate fact from fiction in the news coming out of the NFL owners’ meeting.
Johnny Manziel met with the Patriots and with multiple other teams yesterday, per NFL.com.
Josh Norman and Richard Sherman voiced their opinions on one of the NFL’s new rules on ‘head down’ hits, per The Sporting News. I agree with them.
We come to today’s media selection.
Hey, Happy Humpty, everyone! Get it? Humpty..........Hump day, they......kinda rhyme......or something?
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, & try the head cheese.
