On Thursday, the Minnesota Vikings made another move in free agency, and it’s one that can definitely be classed as “under the radar.”
The Vikings have announced that they have signed linebacker Reshard Cliett. Now, if you’re anything like me, your first reaction was “who?” So, let’s learn about him together.
Cliett played his college football at the University of South Florida, and was drafted by the Houston Texans in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He spent the 2015 season on Injured Reserve after suffering a knee injury in Training Camp, and the Texans wound up cutting him as a part of their final cuts before the start of the 2016 regular season. Since then Cliett has pretty much defined the word “journeyman,” as the Vikings are already his seventh NFL destination.
Following his release by the Texans, Cliett has been on the following NFL practice squads:
- Denver Broncos (2016)
- New York Jets (2016)
- Arizona Cardinals (2016)
- Tennessee Titans (2017)
- Kansas City Chiefs (2017)
After reading that, you now possess exactly the same amount of knowledge that I do about Reshard Cliett. If anyone saw him in college or in any kind of preseason action and has anything to add about him, please feel free to do so.
