NFL: NFC Divisional Playoff-New Orleans Saints at Minnesota Vikings Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

Good Morning!

We’re heading into the weekend with the onset of baseball and the splash free agency period done for the Vikings, although they still could be looking for some LB depth (see below) or that cagey veteran player to fill a rotational spot. If you’re off today I hope you have a great weekend, I will be spending mine with mrs._rob on a couple day holiday without the kids! I’ll be following the thread (and weekend thread) via phone and I’ll drop new stuff as I see it. Bring on the weekend, draft and let’s start OTA’s!

Around the DN since our last thread:

Courtesy of Chris, Eric and Ted you have your very own Vikings free agency tracker on the front page.

Ted and Di are back with their podcast “Roughing the Podcast” this edition 84 million guaranteed reasons to listen.

Chris posted day four of the DN Mock Draft, Cleveland you’re on the clock...again.

In the who’s that but Welcome Aboard section, the Vikings have signed LB Reshard Cliett, Welcome Aboard!

Former Vikings TE Steve Jordan helps kick off a study to find and identify CTE in living people per Chris, if you want to know more about CTE read this fanpost.

Vikings news from other sources:

From the Vikings homepage, Wobby opened his pick-6 mailbag and took reader questions.

The Vikings officially announced the re-signing of CB/PR Marcus Sherels, I still haven’t found any terms disclosed, if/when I find them I’ll post them somewhere.

Today the lunch break series brings us the news that G Steve Hutchinson was likely among the best all time free agency signings by the Vikings.

We come to today’s media selection: Centerfield, by John Fogerty (by request)

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up and tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, try the venison chili and as always, Welcome Aboard and Skol Vikings!
