Two more days ‘til draft day, two more days ‘til draft day, two more......

Merry Tuesday, everyone!

Hey, we’re only two days away from draft day, I’m starting to think I might actually survive the wait. Honestly, if it wasn’t for baseball, I’m not sure I could have done it, especially since we didn’t have fishing until the past few days when winter finally decided to GTHO. Oh wait, we’re expecting snow in a couple days. I don’t care, I’ll fish in snow, wouldn’t be the first time......or the last.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Chris brought us to pick number 28, with the Steelers on the clock in the 2018 Daily Norseman Community Mock Draft.

With three days until the draft, Chris looks at candidates for the best third round pick in Vikings history.

The Mens’ Curling Team (no Chuck, not that kind of curling, settle down) is going to announce the Vikings’ day three picks.

Chris shared the report that the Vikings are likely to pick up Trae Waynes’ fifth year option.

Vikings news from other sources and news from around the rest of the league:

Over at Vikings.com, Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks look at potential impact players from day two of the draft, and they also take a stab at guessing some day 3 impact players. The Vikings are using their new multi-million dollar facility to help them move on from the crap-tastic ending to the 2017 season. Ummm, Zygi? I’m having trouble moving on from last season, too, maybe you could come procure a chunk of land for me & build a shop on it. Nothing too exorbitant, 80 acres or so is fine, water access of course, some tree cover and access to high ground (just in case). The shop should be at least 40x80, heated floors, floor drain, a loft that I can finish into living quarters, and maybe 30 or 40 cases of that new Dakota Soul that Summit makes. I’ll even do my own finish work (I’m picky, it’s best to just let me take the wheel), and I suppose I’ll even share some of the beer with you. kthanxbye.

Over at twincities.com, they look at needs the Vikings could have in a year or two, as some key defensive starters’ contracts will expire.

NFL.com has a do-over to the 2017 draft to see where teams may have picked, if they had the gift of hindsight. Then again, even if they COULD re-do the draft, there’s no guarantee that a player would have been as successful on a different team, so...........I don’t know where I was going with that, it’s based on a goofy concept, it makes no sense. Writers are getting bored, they must not have much fishing where they are, either.

We come to today’s media selection.

Okay, let’s take a look at our new quarterback, here’s a 2017 highlight reel of Kirk Cousins (surrounded by a much inferior supporting cast, of course, it’s kinda like watching Mario Andretti driving a Pinto around the track)

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, & try the blood sausage.
