With the first of their two sixth round picks, the Minnesota Vikings have addressed the offensive line once again, nabbing a prospect from a small school.
With the 213th pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings have selected Colby Gossett, a guard from Appalachian State.
Gossett is a three-time First-Team Sun Belt Conference player, the first player to be named to that All-Conference team three times in Conference history.
Lance Zierlein of NFL.com had a Round 4-5 value on Gossett, so he’s a pretty solid value at this spot.
Gossett had trouble sustaining blocks against talented competition from Georgia and is unlikely to be ready to face off against NFL competitors. Gossett’s NFL-ready frame will appeal to power teams who may look to stash him on a practice squad early on while they work on his technique to unleash more power at the point of attack.
He might need some time to develop, but at least the Vikings have gone back to the offensive line well again.
Minnesota will be back up on the clock here again at #218, the final pick of the sixth round.
Welcome to Minnesota, Colby!
