Happy Tuesday, everyone!
Hey, I love this time of year. Baseball season is in full swing, and the draft is close. Too bad we’re still hovering around zero degrees here, or I’d be fooled into thinking that spring is here. Seriously, this crap isn’t funny anymore, I’m ready to do some camping. Warm up already.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Chris brought us to the 8th pick, where the Bears were up in the 2018 Daily Norseman Community Mock Draft.
The Vikings are to host the annual Top 30 event on Tuesday and Wednesday, per Chris.
The Minnesota Vikings have announced their offseason workout dates, from Chris. Things get started in just two weeks!
Vikings news from other sources and news from around the rest of the NFL:
From KMSP-TV, the Vikings have announced the new jersey numbers for 2018. No, not the New Jersey numbers like the mob runs, it’s the numbers for the jerseys the players will wear on the field.
At Vikings.com, Schrager at the NFL Network says it’s time to put up or shut up for Kirk Cousins. I guess Schrager thinks those are his only two options, I’d think he has other choices, he could partially put up and still talk quite a bit, or put up a lot and only talk a little, or he may decide to put up AND shut up. I mean, it’s not like there’s a law dictating how much of each, if any at all, that Cousins has to do. Schrager didn’t think of that, I guess. Also at Vikings.com, the Good Morning Football crew debates whether the Vikings have one of the top offenses in the NFL. Uhhhhhhhhh.......let’s let ‘em play at least one game before we start talking crazy like that, kids.
From the Strib, Kendall Wright hopes to catch on for good with his new team.
Former NFL RB Isaiah Pead has his sights set on a gold medal at the 2020 Paralympics. Pead lost his leg in a car accident in 2016, he’s obviously not letting him hold him back.
From SBNation, Geoff Schwarts thinks the NFL’s new helmet-hit rule creates more problems than it fixes. I agree.
ESPN assigned free agency grades to all 32 NFL teams.
Other sports news of note:
After ratting off a couple of wins with some big offensive production, the Twins dropped one to the Pirates last night by the score of 5-4. Pittsburgh scored 5 in the first and nothing after that, but it was enough to hold off the Twins, who dropped to 2-2 on the young season.
We come to today’s media selection.
Well, I’m sure just_rob covered this on opening day, but I’m gonna play it anyway because I friggin love baseball & I love this song.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, & try the hog maws.
