After the Vikings released Jarius Wright in mid-March, most Vikings fans wondered what they would do for depth behind their top two wide receivers, Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs.
The Vikings opened by signing WR Kendall Wright on the cheap. Now they have announced another wide receiver signing, this time bringing in former Giants wide receiver Tavarres King.
We have signed WR Tavarres King (@Tkunodos).

King is in his sixth season in the NFL, with the Vikings representing his fifth different team, and his career stats with the first four teams aren’t anything to write home about.
Tavarres King is heading into his 6th season in the NFL. He's spent time with the Panthers, Jaguars, Buccaneers, and Giants.

Career Stats: 22 catches, 303 yards, and 3 touchdowns.
That said, he did have a “career year” last season, where he caught 18 passes on 37 targets for 240 yards and three touchdowns and adding two rushing attempts for three yards.
Nick Olson has more on the new Minnesota wide receiver.
Not a huge amount of tape on Tavarres King, but there are certainly things to like in the limited tape we do have.

This slant-corner route for the TD is absolutely filthy: pic.twitter.com/QQe4nnbA1W
He's tantalizingly close to being a great deep threat—good release, speed, routes, hands fighting, ball tracking, wide catch radius.

But his Achilles heel is he's just inconsistent at the catch point. Fix that and he could be a big contributor. pic.twitter.com/U2ZS59OyjQ
The Giants liked to use him on vertical routes—go's and comebacks—but he was also great on slants and crossing routes.

He's intriguing as a deep threat, but could also contribute underneath. Good weapon, and a nice addition to an already-stacked WR corps. pic.twitter.com/dWfyl7WPED
And, more importantly, it looks as though King is already starting to fit in with his new team.
