CORRECTION: I originally said that this camp was the “Day Without Dad” camp and not the “Day Out With Dad” camp, due entirely to my lack of basic, functional literacy. I have corrected to the story, and apologize to anyone associated with the camp for the error.
In the run-up to his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this August, former Minnesota Vikings’ legend Randy Moss will be holding a camp in the city where he’ll be enshrined into football immortality.
For those of you with children that are in the Canton, Ohio area on 23 June, you and your kids can attend a morning football camp hosted by Moss on the “Day Out With Dad.” The event will take place at the National Football and Youth Sports Complex in Canton, Ohio.
For the low price of $38, a father and up to four kids (ages 12 and under) can attend the camp. The price also includes vouchers for lunch at Chick-Fil-A and admission to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. (For a dad and four kids, the $38 might be worth it just for the Chick-Fil-A vouchers.) Check-in for the camp starts at 8:00 AM that morning, with the Character Camp running from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and tours of the Hall of Fame from the time the camp ends to when they close the doors for the night at 8:00 PM.
Additional adult and/or children’s tickets can be purchased for the event as well.
Joining Moss as a part of the camp will be another legend, as former Cincinnati Bengals tackle (and Hall of Famer himself) Anthony Munoz will be on hand to help out and answer questions as well.
If you want to be a part of the action, you can purchase tickets at the Pro Football Hall of Fame website. Tickets will be available until Wednesday, 20 June, and there will be no “walk-up” or “day of” ticket sales, so you have to get them in advance. The first 100 registered people will also get a limited edition commemorative photo of Moss to go with the experience.
So, if you live in the Canton, Ohio area (or somewhere nearby), or are going to be making the Pro Football Hall of Fame a part of your summer travels, you can jump on the opportunity to attend a football camp run by a legendary member of the Minnesota Vikings.
