We’re halfway between weekends, time to start thinking about what to put on the smoker on Saturday

Merry Wednesday, everyone!

Note the pic of Leo Lewis up top, many of you will remember him playing WR during Anthony Carter’s time in Minnesota. I had to root for the little guy, because little guys rule.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

From Chris, the Vikings scored quite well in the 2015 draft re-grade.

Chris also shared the PFF piece that ranks the Vikings’ wide receivers as the NFL’s best. Those two stories ought to be a lump of cat poop in the cereal bowls of the Phyyre Ryycke crowd. Mornin’ Chuck!

The great Randy Moss will host the ‘Day Without Dad’ football camp this year in Canton.

Vikings news from other sources and news from around the rest of the NFL.

From Chris Tomasson at the Pioneer-Press, Mike Hughes vows to stay grounded. No word on what he did to get grounded, and to be honest, I wasn’t aware that the Vikings used grounding as a punishment. I wonder what he did? Whatever it was, he must plan to keep doing it, because he’s vowed to stay grounded. Good for him, way to buck the system!

Also from the Pioneer-Press, Hercules Mata’afa is trying to live up to his name with the Vikings. Does this means he walks around with chains around his neck? It’s gonna be hard for him to run good routes if he is. Best of luck.

From the Sporting News, former head coach, John Fox, will be joining ESPN as an analyst.

CBS Sports lists the best landing spots for the top ten remaining free agents.

We come to today’s media selection.

Mentioning Hercules made me think of this scene from The Nutty Professor, enjoy.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags\
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, & try the tiger meat.
