Guess what day it is?

Dougie Brown of England

Merry Wednesday, everyone!

We’ve come to the peak of the week, and there is some actual football news and videos of football players doing football player things (kinda’). It’ll make that downhill coast into the weekend that much easier.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Chris looks at whether the Vikings should think about pursuing Richie Incognito.

How can the Vikings field a better team in 2018? Wludford digs in to figure it out.

The NFL owners approved more changes to the kickoff game, from Chris.

Vikings news from other sources and news from around the rest of the NFL.

At, see full highlights from day one of OTAs, Latavius Murray talks about the new, Filippio-coached offense, and lots more videos from OTA day one to sift through in the media vault.

Over at the Strib via AP, Brett Favre says he had three seperate long stints in rehab during his career, fighting an addiction to alcohol and pain pills. I’m glad he’s gotten past his struggles, that isn’t easy stuff to overcome.

Hunter Henry tore his ACL during practice yesterday, per This sucks, many of you will remember me yakking non-stop about him in last year’s draft, and he’s had a very good start to his career. Hopefully he’ll be back soon.

From, the Eagles released LB Mychal Kendricks yesterday. A bit of a surprise move by the Eagles there, I’ll go ahead and leave this here since it’s sure to be said in the comments.

We come to today’s media selection:

My uncle passed away on Friday, and we had his funeral yesterday. He was a good man, lived a long , good life, he loved to fish and play cards. Here’s one for Clarence, who was 96. I’m sure he’s enjoying a whisky-coke & beating someone at pinochle up there as we speak.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags\
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, & try the chitlins.
