Harrison Smith makes NFL Network Top 100 at #46

Again, seems low

NFL: NFC Divisional Playoff-New Orleans Saints at Minnesota Vikings Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL Network Top 100 isn’t taking Memorial Day off, as they’re airing their latest installment right now. Another member of the Minnesota Vikings has made the list, and once again. . .he seems like he’s a little too low.

Harrison Smith, who is probably the best safety in the National Football League, has added his name to the list at #46.

Smith had one of his best seasons in 2017, and could very well be considered the backbone of the Minnesota defense. Regardless of what he’s asked to do, whether it’s support the run, cover tight ends, or play center field, he can do it with the best of them. His versatility allows Mike Zimmer’s defense to do a lot of different things.

Smith becomes the fifth member of the Vikings to make the list, joining quarterback Kirk Cousins (#94), defensive tackle Linval Joseph (#83), wide receiver Stefon Diggs (#65), and cornerback Xavier Rhodes (#55). Like Rhodes, it seems like Smith is a bit too low on the list, and it’s going to be interesting to see how many safeties will be placed on the list ahead of him.

Congratulations to Harrison Smith on making the NFL Network Top 100, and we’ll be looking forward to see how many more of his teammates will be on the list and where.
