Happy Hump-Day, everyone!
Hey, Anthony Barr is at OTAs and the other Kendricks is visiting. I think landing brother Kendricks is a bit of a long shot, but I’d like it if it happens. The reason I think it’s unlikely is that one of the reasons he was dissatisfied in Philly was that he wasn’t being used as an “every down linebacker”, and I don’t see his role being any different in Minnesota, unless he thinks the team plans to play him ahead of Barr or his brother, which I don’t see happening. Hey, that LB trio would be something to see, and you wouldn’t see offenses designing their gameplan to keep the Vikings in the base defense in order to exploit a weak line, as we’ve seen teams do that a couple times over the past few years with occasional success (2015 49ers game, aka preseason game 6, and the Colts game in 2016 come to mind). We’ll see, and it’s nice to have some actual football news to put up here.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Chris shared the report that Anthony Barr is back at Vikings OTAs. His absence was surrounded with rumors of his displeasure over lack of a new contract.
Mychal Kendricks is visiting the Minnesota Vikings, per Chris.
Last season’s Super Bowl brought $400 million to the Twin Cities, also shared by Chris. Ummmm....I thought the stadium was bad and wouldn’t help the city or something.....and a bird might die. I looked for our favorite picture of Mann and his merry band of protesters & couldn’t find it. I have it at work, if no one beats me to it, I’ll post it in the comments.
Vikings news from other sources and news from around the rest of the NFL:
Okay, Vikings.com has some football-y stuff for you to watch. Here’s Kirk Cousins wired for sound (it’s OTAs, no reason for putting a mike on a guy, IMO), Adam Thielen talked with Alexa Score after team activities yesterday, here are all the highlights from yesterday’s OTA number 4, and there’s more to look through in the media vault.
Courtney Cronin at ESPN looks at the payday Diggs could be looking at with another big year in 2018.
Brandon Marshall has signed a deal with the Seattle Seahawks, per NFL.com.
100 days from the season opener, future HOFer and all-around good dude (I added that part), Carson Wentz is making strides as he recovers from his knee injury, per ESPN.
We come to our media selection:
Okay, it’s been a while since we’ve seen some Vikings football, let’s choose one of the classics and give it a watch. The media was all abuzz about a “hot” Cowboys team who could come into Minnesota and knock off the Vikings and their ageless quarterback. Yeah, notsomuch.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door

-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, & try the chitlins.
