After a pretty hectic offseason, I’m sure that Mike Zimmer’s primary objective in attending Saturday night’s Kenny Chesney concert at U.S. Bank Stadium was to relax and take his mind off of the Minnesota Vikings for a few minutes.
Thanks to the country music star himself, that wound up not happening. Not entirely, anyway.
Zimmer wound up on stage during the encore of Saturday night’s concert, and wound up leading nearly 50,000 fans (the folks from Bring Me The News put it at 48,000) in the “Skol Chant.”
Numerous folks caught the moment on social media, but here are a few of them courtesy of the link above:

That was pretty fun: @kennychesney + @vikings’ HC Mike Zimmer leading the @usbankstadium crowd in a Skol chant during encore. Good times. pic.twitter.com/FWcsccc2GV

While we all know that Zimmer has the gruff exterior that we see at press conferences and on the Vikings’ sidelines, it’s nice to see him take an opportunity to relax and cut loose a little bit. He even smiled!
I think.
Were any of you folks at the Kenny Chesney concert when this happened?
(I’ll put it out there that several sites had this before we did, including the folks from The Viking Age.)
