Happy Monday, everyone!
I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable weekend, I know I did. The fish aren’t biting consistently yet, but it sure was nice to get out there again. Low 80s here with very little wind (little wind in the spring is a rarity in ND, similar to seeing a sasquatch in other states, or similar to seeing a tree.......here). I could have stayed out there forever, but there’s that whole “work” and “responsibility” thing, they really get in the way sometimes.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Jalyn (supa, fil?) Holmes and Tyler Conklin signed their rookie contracts, from Chris.
MnVikings1028 has the Minnesota Vikings 90-man roster, and where he believes the depth chart stands.
In addition to having the smartest and best-looking fans, the Vikings now also have the world’s strongest man on their fan roster.
Brandon Zylstra impressed Coach Zimmer during Vikings mini-camp, from Chris.
Mike Zimmer led the Skol chant at a Kenny Chesney concert, per Chris. Not a Skoal chant, as you’d expect at such a concert, but the actual Skol chant.
Vikings news from other sources and news from around the rest of the league:
Over at Vikings.com, catch highlights from Saturday’s rookie mini-camp, as well as highlights from Friday, also see Mike Zimmer’s media address, and much more for you to sift through in the media vault.
At the Star-Tribune, they have an interesting story on the background of Mike Boone, RB and undrafted free-agent signed by the Vikings.
Hue Jackson says that Tyrod Taylor is the Browns’ starting QB, despite Mayfield having an impressive showing, per CBS Sports.
We come to today’s media selection:
After an abysmal couple weeks, the Twins turned it around over the weekend, and took 3 in a row from the White Sox, capping the weekend with last night’s 5-3 win over their division rival. The wins bumped the Twins’ record to 13-17.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, & try the tiger meat.
