Merry Tuesday, everyone!
Cool thing I discovered tonight, I can make my computer picture go up on the TV in my garage. I may never leave. I pretty much have all I need: comfortable chair, grill, smoker, TV, fridge, Vikings pictures and signs, and I can sleep in the bed of my pickup (did it many a time in my younger, wilder days), that’s what hay bales are for.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
Chris shared the ESPN piece that says guard is still the biggest hole on the Vikings roster. I guess I don’t disagree, but it’s the biggest hole on a roster with no major holes, so I won’t complain. I think the offense has been much better at adjusting to mask weaknesses and play to strengths over the recent past, and they’ve actually helped some O linemen improve. Let’s hope that continues.
Chris talks about Garrett Dooley, UDFA linebacker from Wisconsin, with Bucky’s Fifth Quarter.
The Vikings added four players from their rookie mini-camp, and they also had to release , four, per Chris.
Vikings news from other sources and news from around the rest of the NFL:
At Vikings.com, step into the film room with Pete Bercich, watch the GMFB crew debate over/under 13 wins for the good guys next season (does anyone ever take “equals” in these debates? I would, just to be different), and see highlights of Mike Hughes from minicamp.
CBS Sports ranks the first six QBs taken in this years draft by their chances for success. Do they still include the Browns’ pick, or do they leave him off the list so someone else has a chance at being least likely to succeed?
From NFL.com, the Saints have released TE Coby Fleener with a failed physical designation.
The 49ers have released versatile offensive lineman, Zane Beadles.
We come to today’s media selection.
With the draft over, and teams releasing veterans to make room for their youngens, here’s a fitting selection.
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, & try the tiger meat.
