Merry Tuesday, everyone!

Hey, it always stinks to say goodbye to Monday, but at least we only have 3.9 more days until the weekend, amirite?! Anyone have big plans for Father’s Day? Mrs. Fishin’ asked what I wanted to do (although she already knew the answer), so we’ll obviously be fishing, weather permitting. It’s also a given that there will be some sort of dead animal on the smoker this weekend, I’m not sure what that’ll be yet.......besides yummy.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Niners Nation wonders if Kirk Cousins is the Vikings’ missing piece. Technically, he’s not missing anymore, since the Vikings added him. I don’t really know what type of piece he is, if the Vikings were missing a piece, or if he’s a piece at all. Is anyone a really a piece? If not, what are we? Does anyone read anything up here? Where was I?

Four Vikings made Pete Prisco’s Top 100, per Chris.

NFL.com predicts that Dalvin Cook will the Vikings 2018 MVP.

Randy Moss shared a photo of his HOF locker. I like Moss, he seems like a good guy, and he’s handling retirement with class.

Chris joins in the fun going around SB Nation, and plays “what if” with the 2009 NFC Championship Game. Thanks, I’m gonna chug this bottle of Drano now, then I’m gonna go run full-speed into a brick wall over and over for a while.

Vikings news from other sources and news from around the rest of the NFL:

At Vikings.com, the GMFB crew discusses which player is the best in the NFC North, and the Vikings unveiled TCO Studios with all the latest technology.

ESPN evaluates the top defenses and which of them got better/worse.

Julio Jones will not be attending the Falcons’ three-day minicamp, per NFL.com. In related news, I didn’t attend a work lunch they had to celebrate a co-worker’s birthday.

Cowboys DE Randy Gregory is to meet with the NFL to apply for possible reinstatement, per the Sporting News.

Hue Jackson says the Browns are aiming to achieve something special, per NFL.com. What do you think it is they’re aiming for? A .500 preseason record? Three regular-season wins? Hey, gotta reach for the stars, man.

We come to today’s media selection:

After hearing some Patsy Cline yesterday, let’s hear some more of that good ol’ real country. Here are the Highwaymen with.........Highwayman. Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson, holy hell. Sports teams can put together all the dream teams they want, they won’t ever top this group of legends. Enjoy!

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer\\
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away

-While navigating the open thread, just assume anything you read is sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, & try the chitlins.
