With mini camp over and done with for the Minnesota Vikings and (hopefully) not a hell of a lot to talk about until 27 July when Training Camp starts, we’ve got an interesting little tidbit from cornerback Xavier Rhodes, who sat down with Adam Schein from Mad Dog Sports on SiriusXM.
This is only a short snippet of the interview, but Schein takes a moment to ask Rhodes who he thinks the best cornerback in the NFL is. His answer is. . .well, is actually exactly what you’d expect.

Yes, Rhodes came straight out and said that he is, in fact, the best cornerback in the National Football League. (I’m sure not going to argue. . .in fact I think I’ve said the same thing about Rhodes in this space on more than one occasion.) I do like Rhodes’ quote when Schein asks him who the second-best corner is.
“I’m the top five. So it’s Xavier, Xavier, Xavier, Xavier, Xavier.”
When pressed, however, Rhodes did cite Arizona Cardinals’ cornerback Patrick Peterson as a player that he admires a great deal.
I do have to wonder whether or not Rhodes’ declaration is going to get back to another top-notch corner in Jacksonville Jaguars’ cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Ramsey, who has never been shy about assessing his own abilities, will be making a trip to Minnesota this summer with the rest of his Jaguars’ teammates when the Vikings and Jaguars have joint practices in August.
Xavier Rhodes thinks he’s the best cornerback in the NFL. Do you agree with him?
