It’s Friday, Welcome Aboard!

NFL: Minnesota Vikings-Minicamp Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

Good Morning!

We’re in the doldrums of the league calendar with mini-camps now complete and we’ve the entered the “no news is good news” about our favorite football team until training camp starts. We’ll plod along with our daily thread full of beer recommendations, nap strategies, crock pot and smoker recipes. Have another cup of coffee and drop by for some fan wisdom and snark. In the meantime the US Open started Thursday at Shinnecock Hills, NY and more importantly to about four of us the World Cup is going on until July 15th. I’ll be updating both events on this thread and the weekend thread.

Around the DN since our last thread:

Wludford gives us some more mini-camp tidbits.

From Ted Who Ya Got? Pick one player from the Vikings past to play on the team for 2018, my choice was easy, HOF WR Randy Moss.

Gone are the days of paper tickets to Vikings games writes Chris as the Vikings have gone to all electronic tickets starting this season. Bummer, I saved the ticket stubs to the one NFL game I took my son to.

Vikings news from other sources:

From Vikings.com HC Mike Zimmer addressed the media after the completion of mini-camp.

CB Mike Hughes addressed the media following the final day of this week’s mandatory mini-camp.

Safety Harrison Smith addressed the media following the final day of this week’s mandatory mini-camp.

WR Adam Thielen on Zylstra’s play, his future and the offense’s performance this off-season.

Tackle/guard Mike Remmers addressed the media following the final day of this week’s mandatory mini-camp, also Remmers relying on versatility and will be ready for anything on the offensive line.

League news:

Giant’s LT Nate Solder avoided a knee injury during a brief fight between Will Hernandez and Damon Harrison.

Former Jets/Raiders QB Christian Hackenberg is visiting with the New England Patriots.

Jaguars DE Donte Fowler looks to prove his worth after his 5th year option was not picked up.

We come to today’s media selection: The Iceland National Soccer celebrates their World Cup Bid, you’ll recognize the chant.

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up and tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, try the venison chili and as always, Welcome Aboard and Skol Vikings!
