Stefon Diggs, Pat Elflein make NFL.com Under-25 team

Neither of those names is a surprise, really.

More preseason rankings and discussion to talk about here, ladies and gentlemen, as Elliot Harrison of NFL.com has put together his All-Under-25 team for the upcoming season. You’d expect at least a couple of members of the Minnesota Vikings to make that list, given all of the talent this team has accumulated, and they do have a pair of names on the list.

As you’d expect, Stefon Diggs was named to the list as one of the team’s wide receivers.

Despite being the WR2 in Minnesota by season’s end, Diggs is still top shelf. He posted 849 receiving yards and eight TDs despite missing two games with a groin injury. Oh, and he contributed the biggest playoff reception in years. His catch radius is fantastic.

He’s joined on the squad by someone that might be a bit of a surprise in center Pat Elflein.

Yet another rookie makes the All-Under-25 Team, and for good reason. Elflein helped the Vikings improve in the one area they had to get better: up front. The unit allowed 11 fewer sacks than in 2016, and went from 32nd to seventh in rushing.

Elflein is going to end up being a steal, from the looks of things. He’s still recovering from the broken ankle that he suffered in the NFC Championship Game, but all signs point to him being ready to go when the team hits Training Camp here in about six weeks.

Now, with Harrison putting together an actual team rather than just a list of his top 25 players under the age of 25, there’s a limit on how many players at each position that can make it. That explains why, once again, an under-25 list does not have defensive end Danielle Hunter on it. The two defensive end that Harrison went with were Joey Bosa of the Los Angeles Chargers and Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns, and it’s hard to argue Hunter over either of those guys. That doesn’t mean that Hunter isn’t one of the best players under 25. . .there are just a couple of other defensive ends under the age of 25 that are considered to be better.

What do you think of Elliot Harrison’s All-Under-25 team, folks? Were there members of the Vikings that he missed?
