Good Morning!
We’re in the doldrums of the league calendar with mini-camps now completed and we’ve the entered the “no news is good news” about our favorite football team until training camp starts. Have another cup of coffee and drop by for some fan wisdom and snark. In the meantime the US Open continues at Shinnecock Hills, NY and more importantly to about four of us the World Cup is going on until July 15th. I’ll be updating both events this weekend as time permits. Also, this Sunday is Father’s Day, what are your plans this weekend?
Around the DN since our last thread:
From Chris, Minneapolis and US Bank Stadium will not be part of the 2026 World Cup, and since the stadium closest to me wasn’t included, I’ll be traveling if I can score tickets.
Xavier Rhodes says he’s the best corner in the league, I’m not disagreeing with him.
Vikings news from other sources and news around the league:
From Vikings.com and their lunch break series, WR Stefon Diggs and OL Pat Elflein were included in the NFL.com’s 25 under 25.
Week in review: A successful off-season program concludes.
Three observations: the defense closes out mini-camp strong.
Vikings alumni reconnect in the first barbecue at TCO.
From 1500espn: Revisiting Anthony Barr’s role as a pass rusher.
Vikings WR Brandon Zylstra continues to impress.
Consistent with the weekend thread, I’ll post stuff from the league in the comments section Saturday and Sunday.
We come to today’s media selection: AC/DC Highway to Hell
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up and tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, try the venison chili and as always, Welcome Aboard and Skol Vikings!
