Along with the information that we brought to you earlier today, the Minnesota Vikings have released the full schedule for this year’s Training Camp at the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center in Eagan. So, what are the happenings going to look like?
Well, things will sort of get underway on 24 July, when the rookies will report to Eagan. There will be practices that involve just those players on 25, 26, and 27 July. The veterans will get to town on 27 July, and that’s when camp will really get into full swing.
On the days that practices are taking place, there will be two sessions. There will be a walk-through in the mornings from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Then, after a bit of a break, the afternoon session will kick off at 2:45 PM each day and then run until approximately 5:10. That will be the schedule for most of the days of camp, with the exceptions of the following dates:
- Wednesday, 1 August - Players Day Off
- Saturday, 4 August - Scrimmage day (explained below)
- Sunday, 5 August - Players Day Off
- Friday, 10 August - Team travel day
- Saturday, 11 August - Pre-season game #1 at Denver
- Sunday, 12 August - Players Day Off
Saturday, 4 August is going to be the date for the annual nighttime scrimmage. The day session will still take place from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, but the scrimmage will run from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM, and that’s generally followed by a fireworks show.
The joint practices with the Jacksonville Jaguars will take place on the final two days of camp, which are 15 and 16 August. The times will remain the same. . .morning session from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, and the afternoon session will be from 2:45 to 5:10 PM.

On all of the days that practices are being held, the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center will be open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. There are a couple of exceptions to that as well. On 27 July, the day that veterans report, it will be open from 8:00 AM to noon, and on 4 August (scrimmage day), it will be open from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
