After fighting his way up from the practice squad to be a big-time member of the team he cheered for as a child, Minnesota Vikings’ wide receiver Adam Thielen is the latest member of the purple that has chosen to give back to the community through his own charitable foundation.
Thielen and his wife, Caitlin, have announced the launch of the Thielen Foundation, and the Foundation held its first football camp on Sunday at the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center. The camp was attended by around 250 children.
As far as the focus of the Thielen Foundation, here is the statement they have on their “About” page:
No matter the endeavor, the Thielen family is passionate about making a real-world difference that extends far beyond the football field. This lifelong mentality sparked the formation of the Thielen Foundation, which aims to serve, educate and inspire people to reach their full potential. In its founding year, the Thielen Foundation will be planning a variety of events and fundraisers to be a force for positive change and development in the local Twin Cities community.
As we always say when members of the Vikings do this, it’s always refreshing to see players from this team giving back to the community like this. There are a lot of players that do a lot of things for cities and towns across the state of Minnesota, and the Thielen Foundation is just the latest.
You can get to the Thielen Foundation website at the link above, and while the Foundation doesn’t yet have its own account on the Twitters, you’ll be able to get everything about the foundation from Thielen himself, who you should already be following on Twitter anyway.
