NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Minnesota Vikings Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Good Morning!

I hope your weekend is going great whether you’re working, fishing, or doing absolutely nothing. My weekend is going to consist of yard work and the completion of replacing my privacy fence so I can ignore the neighbor I call “Mr. PoopyHead” and I’ll probably take mrs_rob out for dinner this weekend, but since I live in Florida dinner will be at 4pm. I have some other fun stuff planned for this weekend, what are you doing?

Around the DN since our last thread:

From Chris we have a Caption Contest for Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer.

Wludford ponders evaluating HC Mike Zimmer, (I did it again).

Vikings news from other sources and news around the league:

From Vikings.com and their lunch break series: Sport Illustrated predicts an early pivotal game for the Vikings.

Letters to Bud, Chapter 5. Seriously, give this series a read if you haven’t already.

Week in review: OTA’s conclude and Dalvin Cook takes a step forward.

From the NFL network: Chris Doleman and his battle with cancer.

Consistent with the weekend thread, I’ll post stuff from the league in the comments section Saturday and Sunday.

We come to today’s media selection: Prince-Purple Rain

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up and tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, try the venison chili and as always, Welcome Aboard and Skol Vikings!
