It’s the peak of the week, and we start the easy, downhill coast into another beautiful summer weekend

Merry Wednesday, everyone!

I don’t know about you, but I think Wednesday is a perfect day to do a little housecleaning, donchathink? I’m odd, I love cleaning. Vacuuming, mopping, shampooing carpets, all of it. I get excited about cool gadgets like my Crosswave thing, it sweeps and mops AT THE SAME TIME!!! How cool is that?! Anyway, I got off track, where was I? Oh yeah, sometimes you work hard to have a nice, clean house, then some dust, or dirt, or some other annoying substance gets in and dirties up the place you worked so hard to keep clean. Well, all you can do then is get to work & get that annoying little dirty son of a gun out of there, amirite? I agree. Consider it done. Thanks for the emails, texts, & other communication, I haven’t had the time to get on much as of late, so I appreciate the heads up when someone can’t control their actions & leaves a mess on our floor. I’m getting the pressure washer out as we speak.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

From Chris, Colin Cowherd is confused about his feelings about the Vikings. I honestly think Cowherd is a walking contradiction (unfortunately, he’s also a talking one), he says whatever will get attention. It’s like the audio version of clickbait, maybe listenbait or something like that.

Chris takes a closer look at the Vikings players’ ratings on Madden ‘19.

Chris also takes a look back at Percy Harvin’s time in Minnesota. I wish we could get another look at him throwing that weight at Chilly, THAT would be awesome to see.

NFL Network has their prediction on what the Vikings’ record will be for the upcoming season.

Anthony Barr has launched a new initiative to help single parents. per Chris. I love seeing the team’s players doing things to better the communities, it makes them even easier to cheer for. I really love the team that Zimmer and Co. have put together, it’s full of good, talented players, and also good people.

The Daily Norseman previews the 2018 season with Chicago Bears Review.

Vikings news from other sources and news from around the rest of the league:

ESPN has their take on who the rising star is in the NFC North.

From the Star Tribune, Rashod Hill has dropped some weight with the hopes that it will help him contribute more to the Vikings O line.

Also at the Strib, Packers RB Aaron Jones has been suspended for two games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Perfect time for this:

With that, we come to today’s media selection.

Since A-a-ron done messed up, let’s watch that one from Key and Peele. Those of you who haven’t seen it will have a better understanding of some of our humor after you watch it. Enjoy!

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

  • No discussion of politics or religion
  • No feeding of the trolls
  • This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door
  • Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must
  • Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
  • No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
  • If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
  • While navigating the open thread, just assume anything you read is sarcasm

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, & try the head cheese
