Vikings 2018 Over/Under: Dalvin Cook

Can he meet the expectations, even coming off of an injury?

We’ve got the last of our three Over/Under looks that the folks from Bet Online have provided, but I might go and make up a couple for some of the Vikings’ other offensive players after this one.

We know how good Dalvin Cook could be. When he suffered his injury in the Week 4 loss to the Detroit Lions, Cook was second in the National Football League in rushing yardage and had given us ever reason to believe that he was a true difference maker in the Minnesota offense. Now that he’s coming off of an injury and moving into a new offense, what kind of things can we expect from him in 2018?

Well, the folks from Bet Online think he can do pretty well for himself, despite those things. Here’s the marks they have for him for the upcoming season:

Rushing Yards: 1,100

Total Touchdowns: 8.5

Through the 3.5 games he played in 2017, Cook ran for 354 yards and two touchdowns, while catching another 11 passes for 90 yards. Unless my math is off, that would have put him on pace for a little over 1,600 rushing yards and nine scores on the ground, along with about 400 receiving yards.

Again, we know that Cook is back from his injury, but we don’t know if he’s “back,” if that makes any sense. We also don’t know what sort of run/pass balance the Vikings’ offense is going to have under John DeFilippo, so that’s another potential variable.

With that. . .what do you think, folks? Again, we’ll keep the polls open for about five days, then go back and take a look at what everyone thought.
